Schnauzer Savers Rescue, Inc. IS A 501c3 NON PROFIT Rescue. Your donations are tax deductible. We strive to rescue any unwanted, abandoned, abused or neglected Miniature Schnauzer and other small non-shed breeds and provide them with love, vet care, excellent nutrition and find them their forever homes. Thus far, in 10 years, we have been blessed to have rescued over 4,250 dogs, more than 2,100 of them Schnauzers. We have dedicated our lives to this cause. We spend many hours on the road every month driving to many states to rescue these dogs and bring them back to our home.  Additionally, we have board members and foster homes in North Carolina and Florida.  We care for them until they find their new family. Your donations are needed and we would really appreciate anything you can do to help us pay for the vetting, food, medicines, preventatives and fuel for the over 5,000 miles a month that we drive to help these babies.  Our total road miles in the "bus" motorhome, have exceeded 350,000.

Every penny we get in donations (along with most of our personal monthly pay) goes to take care of the animals. Everyone affiliated with our rescue does this on a totally VOLUNTEER BASIS.  Many work full time jobs, have children and also foster and/or perform many other functions for the rescue.  No one receives any salary.

All DONATIONS help us continue this rescue effort.

Schnauzer Savers Rescue, Inc. is a 501C3 Non profit Rescue.  My husband and I are true Schnauzer Lovers (as well as all animals).  We live to save these babies and find them wonderful, loving, forever homes.  We travel all over the SE, including FL, GA, MS,TN, NC, SC and rescue these abandoned, neglected and discarded fur babies, We bring them to our home as well as our foster and Board Members homes,  and get them to the vet to be checked out and spayed/neutered, heart worm and fecal tested, as well as vaccinations.  We have dedicated our lives and our financial resources to this cause. As a 501C3 Non profit, donations are ALWAYS needed and appreciated.  We operate on our own personal funds, donations, and adoption fees.

We do this work out of our retirement compensation. The average vet bill for each dog is $250.00.  Most recently we had 2 new ones that needed in excess of $2500 in surgeries in order to make them well so they can find their forever homes.  This does not include the ongoing expenses of keeping all of them on heart worm and flea/tick preventative, grooming, and feeding them an all natural diet.  If a dog is sick when we rescue it (for instance, heart worm positive or bladder stones) it can cost over $1,500 per dog to get them healthy and ready for their forever home.  We do not adopt a dog out until it has a clean bill of health.  We work very hard to house train, leash and crate train all of our foster dogs before they are adopted.

If you see a dog posted on our Petfinder site that you are interested in adopting, kindly email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., or download an application from this website, or call me at 731/439-1731.  We will get an application to you to complete.  We require a vet reference if you have owned a pet in the past 7 years.  We also require a home visit.  Generally, if the adoptive family is within a reasonable driving distance to us, we will bring the dog you are interested in adopting with us for the home visit.  Many of these babies have been abandoned at shelters, thrown out in the street, or come from puppy mill operations.  Many of them have already had a very hard life, so it is of the utmost importance to us that they are placed in the RIGHT home so that they are not shuffled around anymore than they already have been.  Be patient with us as we conduct our interview with you, your vet reference check, and your home visit as these are designed to make sure you adopt the pet that will best fit in with your family and household.  Sometimes this process seems time consuming, but it is designed to ensure the best fit.

We have rescued more than 4,250 dogs in the past 10 years and we could not have done this without all of your support. We would like to thank all of our supporters through their monetary donations, grooming discounts, veterinary discounts, as well as donated items.  It is impossible for any non profit rescue organization to exist without donors and volunteers. We, along with our Board of Directors and Fosters, spend more than $20,000 each year out of our pockets above and beyond all donations and adoption fees.
